Enter the deadline on the renewal
Open the renewal and find Dates. Renewal date is when the next period starts. Cancellation deadline is when notice must be given. End date is separate again.
- Open the renewal and go to the Dates section.
- Enter the cancellation deadline as a calendar date.
- If the agreement requires notice a set number of days before renewal, enter Cancellation notice (days) in Terms. An explicit cancellation deadline still wins over a derived date.
- Set auto-renew to Yes when silence would continue the agreement. Those records get extra attention inside 60 days.
- Save the renewal so Dashboard cancellation-deadline views and reminder timing can use the field.
Use it in review
Needs Attention includes cancellation windows, especially inside 14 days with auto-renew or high annual cost ($10,000+). You can also open Dashboard widgets that list cancellation deadlines and filter the renewals list by that date field.
- Check Needs Attention for items inside the cancel window, not only overdue renewal dates.
- On Standard or Business, set cancellation reminder days such as 30, 14, and 7 so email goes out before the window closes.
- Do not defer Review again past the cancellation deadline. The product blocks snoozes that cross that date.
